India has a very rich and varied tradition of folk music because of the extreme diversity in rural culture. The sad part is that we are losing our rich and beautiful styles with the passing time since noone actually has actually made any account of these. This site will explore the different folk styles from different regions in depth and explain them in terms of musicality, analysis, expression and other aspects of music.
